Convinced that nobody is essentially un-employable, be it long-term unemployed people, unqualified young people, or people with difficult personal life histories we provide employment solutions through Work Integration Social Enterprises (WISE). Work Integration Social Enterprises meet the needs of those considered remote from the labor market and trapped in a “vicious circle of exclusion”.
We provide a two-year employment contract, combined with on-the-job training and social support while remaining sustainable. Based on the expertise of managing 12 work integration social enterprises for the past 15 years (10 sectors of activity and $35 million annual revenues), Calso will replicate some of its successful models in the Bay Area.
Based on this idea, we decided to set up an accelerator to support innovative tech startups developing models to solve social and environmental challenges: elderly care, disabilities, health, mobility, homelessness, etc.
There is a need for business support services dedicated to social enterprises mixing technological and social innovation. By bringing together experts and actors active in the sector of social entrepreneurship and new technologies, we believe we will foster social change and help social organizations scale.
